Every year, many students embark on their journey of final year project. They will need to indicate their preference first. It is not fair to take the first-come-first-serve approach as every student needs some time to organise their thoughts and make the correct choice. Therefore, it is important to use a form, i.e. Google Form, to collect the opinions and liaise with students.
What is a good research topic? In fact, this is the hardest question before initiating a final year research project. When facing a huge variety of topics, what are the important factors you should consider before choosing the right topic for you?
If you are interested in a topic, the whole research project will be much easier and more manageable for you. You will have a substantially higher level of motivation to dig deep in the research topic. You will feel that you can understand the subject matters of the research. It is tempting to conduct research that are receiving a lot of attention. But it is meaningless if you are totally not interested.
Remember that you are a beginner. So it is the best to gather more relevant information before you start doing your research. What does it mean? There must be sufficient information on the research topic, so you can read about the methods and results for reference. If your research direction is too new or too specialised, you may have an incredibly hard time of writing your own research project.

According to past experience, some students prefer using their own mail box to the one issued by the institute. It is perfectly fine.
