Sting 57th & 9th Concert Hong Kong

For the past three months, whenever I watched YouTube, the advertisement showed me about the Sting 57th and 9th tour concert on 3rd, June in HKCEC, Hong Kong. However, it had been too late as I noticed the closed ticket sale. Fortunately, in the afternoon in advance of the concert, I saw a discounted ticket on a Facebook Group. Should I have any doubts, the ticket would have been claimed by others.

Joe Sumner and The Last Bandoleros opened for the concert. They jammed on an interesting song called Jelly Beans. They assisted Sting on several songs as well.

Sting appeared with the unmistakable guitar riff from Synchronity II. The screams at the intro delievered so much energy to everyone in the hall.

Nobody can beat Sting with his Fender Precision Bass. Listening the two classics of the Police-era, he performed some legendary tunes from his solo career. Songs from 57th & 9th, the latest album were also featured. Some songs have been re-arranged. Shape of my Heart was enriched with Accordion parts. Jazz and fushion stuff were added to Roxanne.

She's Too Good for Me - Raggae stuff

Dominic Miller played stunning guitar parts. This 57-year-old guitarist spent more than three decades on the right side of Sting.

The musicians were having a good time.

In an earlier interview, Sting shared his views on the passing away of his fellow musical icons. There must be a lot going on in his heart. Joe Sumner sang Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie to share this feeling with us.

After Ain't no Sunshine When She's Gone, they left the stage. The applause from the floor seemed to be questioning "How can a Sting concert finish without ...?". Sting returned! Next to You and Every Breath You Take were performed. The last song, Fragile, was dedicated to the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack. Although the arrest have been made, the deceased shall be remembered. Violence can destroy our bone and flesh. But it can never destroy humanity.
